Designer’s Warehouse Terms of Service
Welcome to Designer’s Warehouse. These Terms of Service explain the ground rules for using our receiving, inspection, storage, delivery, and installation services. By sending items to us or booking our crews, you agree to the terms below—so please give them a quick read before we get started.
Terms of Service
1. Who We Serve
Designer’s Warehouse (“DW,” “we,” “our,” “us”) provides receiving, inspection, warehousing, dispatch, delivery and installation services for interior designers and trade professionals at:

-
Wilmington, NC – 2975 Andrew Jackson Hwy, Dock 21, Leland NC 28451

-
Charlotte, NC – 1325 Carrier Drive, Charlotte NC 28216

-
Raleigh, NC – 1600 Garner Business Park Dr, Suite 100 Raleigh, NC 27610
2. Receiving & Inspection
-
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (closed weekends & holidays).

-
To receive out of box inspection for items, please indicate at the beginning of the project.

-
What we do: unload, photograph, inspect for visible freight damage, and post to your digital inventory board.

-
Handling fees: Each “move” (receive, inspect, or dispatch) is $13. Most items pass through three moves ($39 total per item processed).
-
Refusals: Openly damaged freight will be rejected and documented with the carrier.
-
Designer’s role: Let us know about vendor-imposed inspection windows so we can flag the item (for example: 24-hour notification of damage for custom items).

-
All FedEx, UPS, and other carrier shipments must arrive with “signature required.” We do not accept verbal confirmations or “signature on file.” A physical signature represents the transition of ownership.
-
Inspection is limited to obvious physical defects—breaks, scratches, finish flaws, or tears. Our team does not verify pleating, fabric colors, or other aesthetic details unless the item shows clear damage. You may review images of items in your inventory portal.

-
A breakout by project is provided to provide transparent billing to your clients.
3. Storage
-
Space is charged weekly at $25 per 64 sq ft “unit.”

-
Billed monthly based on total square footage used each week, rounded up to the next whole unit.
-
1-unit (64 sq ft) minimum.
-
A breakout by project is provided to provide transparent billing to your clients.
4. Delivery, Pickup & Installation
-
Delivery and install crews are scheduled after all items for a project are in our warehouse and a pull sheet is received (48 hrs minimum).
-
Standard deliveries use a two-person or four-person crew and box trucks; larger projects or specialty pieces may require extra crew, equipment, or third-party specialists at additional cost.
-
Customer or third-party pickups require 24 hrs notice.
-
Cancellations < 48 hrs before a confirmed slot incur a minimum $100 fee to cover lost crew time.

5. Assembly, Repairs & Special Services
-
We assemble furniture that ships with pre-drilled holes and complete hardware. Complex builds, electrical hookup, or stone/ceiling mounting require a specialist quote.
-
If an item is damaged while in our care, Designer’s Warehouse will have it repaired—either by our team or a trusted specialist—before considering replacement. If the damage cannot be reasonably fixed, we will replace the item at our discretion.

-
Re-packaging, rug treatments, crate builds, debris haul-off, or lift/scaffold rental are quoted case-by-case.
6. Payment
-
A valid credit card on file is required before we accept freight.
-
Invoices are issued monthly; the card is run on the invoice date (Net 0).
-
Late balances accrue the greater of 5 % or $40 per month.
-
COD freight is not accepted. Freight costs we advance on your behalf are billed plus a 15 % handling surcharge.
7. Claims & Liability
-
Report visible delivery damages on the Bill of Lading or pull sheet before our crew departs.
-
If we signed for an item and it goes missing while in our care, we’ll replace it.

-
Our maximum liability follows NC mover statute: $0.60 per pound per article unless additional insurance is purchased in advance.
-
DW is not liable for:
-
Manufacturer defects or concealed flaws discovered after vendor claim windows lapse.
-
Designer's Warehouse is not responsible for the breakage of concrete, natural or faux stone products.
-
Items left outside at the client’s request.
-
8. Scheduling & Communication
-
Email support@designerswarehouse.co with project details, and carrier and tracking if available, before freight arrives.
-
We post item status and photos in your digital inventory board by project so you can track progress in real time.
-
Delivery/installation dates are confirmed only after storage and handling balances are current.
