Owner | Designer's Warehouse

Kevin Lackey, founder of Designer’s Warehouse, created the company to serve the unique operational needs of interior designers with a higher standard of care, communication, and project support. A Wilmington native and UNCW business management graduate, Kevin’s background spans construction, technology, logistics, and regional economic development — experience that shaped a practical understanding of how furnishings must be received, handled, stored, and delivered with precision.

Before launching Designer’s Warehouse, Kevin worked alongside warehousing and distribution operations across the region, helping solve challenges related to workflow, facility planning, software systems, and growth. He also supported the expansion of a local interior design firms, where he saw firsthand how essential responsiveness, transparency, and careful handling are to delivering an exceptional client experience.

That perspective became the foundation of Designer’s Warehouse: a designer-focused receiving, storage, delivery, and installation partner built to function as a seamless extension of the design team. Under Kevin’s leadership, the company is centered on thoughtful execution, operational reliability, and the level of detail required to support beautiful projects from arrival to final placement.

Kevin was recognized as a Wilmington 40 Under 40 honoree in 2020 in this feature from the StarNews.
