Furniture Inspections for Interior Designers
Detailed furniture inspection services designed to protect your projects—and your reputation.
At Designer’s Warehouse, we inspect furniture as it arrives so issues are identified early, documented clearly, and addressed before they impact installation or client timelines.
What a Furniture Inspection Includes
Every inspection at Designer's Warehouse starts at the dock: shipments are checked for visible freight damage as they're unloaded, then opened and inspected where applicable — open-box inspection is the default, with sensible exceptions for sealed vendor packaging or items where opening adds handling risk. Condition issues get a written description and photos, posted to your digital inventory board with an alert to you. Inspection photos are typically available within 48–72 hours depending on shipment size and volume. If a vendor issues a return authorization, Designer's Warehouse prepares the item for return shipment — and can provide in-house repair support when a vendor approves a repair instead.
Inspection Is Where Problems Are Prevented—or Created
Most installation issues don’t start at install—they start at receiving.
Without a consistent inspection process, damaged items can sit unnoticed until install day, when replacement timelines, client expectations, and project schedules are already locked.
Our inspection process provides visibility and accountability early, when problems are still easy to solve.

Condition Notes
Issues are logged with concise notes so designers understand what was found and what action may be needed.

QUESTION:
What happens if furniture arrives damaged?
ANSWER:
You'll know before install day. Designer's Warehouse documents the damage with a written description and photos, posts it to your digital inventory board, and sends you an alert. You file the freight claim with your vendor or carrier using Designer's Warehouse documentation, and Designer's Warehouse can prepare return shipments or handle vendor-approved minor repairs in-house.
